The Erwin Schrödinger International Institute for Mathematics and Physics (ESI) is a programme-oriented research institute for mathematics and mathematical physics operating as a "Forschungsplattform" (research centre) at the University of Vienna. Since its foundation in 1992 it has been the mission of the ESI to advance research in mathematics, physics and mathematical physics at the highest international level through fruitful interaction between scientists from these disciplines.
